Rystad says shale industry will stabilize in 2021

Output will decline further for US shale players, but the industry has just about hit bottom, writes the analyst firm.

When the coronavirus set the world ablaze during spring, the US shale oil industry was one of the sectors suffering the most extreme consequences.

Now, its total production is expected to drop by 3.1 percent in 2020 compared to 2019, corresponding to more than 7.5 million barrels per day, according to a report by Norwegian analyst firm Rystad Energy.
